A Day in the ER......

As many of you know, boys that are 19 months and counting are very good climbers.  I didn't get that memo and so one day while I was sitting down stairs doing bills, I heard a great big THUD!  I knew instantly what it was.....Jack had some how climbed over the edge of his crib and landed on his neck and head.  He cried for about 20 minutes and then nothing...No crying, no talking, no babbling....Just the deafening sound of silence.  I called his pediatrician and she instructed me to go to the emergency room, immediately.  I scooped him up and we were on our way.  I called Larry on the way and he met us  at the hospital, but not before he got pulled over by the highway patrolman.  Jack was having a hard time standing at first, he couldn't walk and when he finally did walk, he looked drunk.  Almost as if he had been going round and round in circles so he couldn't stand up straight.  Little by little his faculties came back.  After about 2 1/2 hours in the ER and 2 x-rays later, he was laughing, jumping and climbing all over everything!  I always carry my camera in my purse, so after he was cleared to come home, I snapped a few shots!  Here's Jack in his pink hospital gown.  They couldn't find any blue ones.  There's a good chance Jack had a slight concussion, he had bruising around the base of his neck and maybe a small fracture of his collar bone.  It was tough to see in the x-rays.  Anyway, he has made a full recovery and we couldn't be more happy.  We are truly blessed.
